All output is via the HTML canvas element, no other DOM-based elements are used to output graphics to the screen. This is all being drawn via canvas context method calls.
The buttons you see on screen are also output via the canvas using the engine’s built-in UI module that allows you to create UI elements that are not based on standard HTML input element tags. The engine automatically detects clicks / touches as well as over and out states on UI elements and emits those events to your game code.
